Email Configuration – Macintosh Mail

Common Issues:

I need help to setup my email account.

I have issues sending mails out to my recipients / I encountered a “We do not relay” error message.

 


 

 

01. Click Mail > Add Account.

02. Select Add Other Mail Account and click the Continue button.

03. Enter your Full Name, Email Address, and Password. When finished, click the Create button.

04. After receiving a message that the Account must be manually configured click the Next button.

05. Type in the Incoming Mail Server Info using the table below as a guide. Click the Next button when finished.

Parameter    Value
Account Type: POP (or POP3)
Mail Server: pop.domainname.com
Username: Your complete e-mail address
Password: Your password for the e-mail address

06. After receiving the notice that Additional account information required, click the Next button.

07. Kindly type in the additional Incoming Mail Server Info using the table below as a guide. Click the Next button when finished.

Port: 110
Use SSL: Unchecked/Untick
Authentication: Password


08. Please key the Outgoing Mail Server Info using the table below as a guide. Click the Create button when finished.

SMTP Server: asmtp.domainname.com
Username: Your full e-mail address
Password: Your password for the e-mail address

09. After receiving the notice that Additional account information required, click the Next button.

10. Key in the additional Outgoing Mail Server Info using the table below as a guide. Click the Next button when finished.

Port: 25 (or 366, our alternate port)
Use SSL: Unchecked/Untick
Authentication: Password

11. OS X Mail will connect to your account and begin to download your mail to your inbox.
